BackerKit Deadline and a Production Update

Ahoy Backers!

We are here at the Gathering of Friends in "sunny" Niagara Falls, New York, bringing you this fantastic update!!

BackerKit Deadline

If you have added to your pledge through BackerKit, today is the day that we charge your credit cards. By the end of the day EST we will have done that. You still have a few hours to get those last minute changes in. If there is something wrong with your charge, you'll be notified immediately by BackerKit. If the problem persists, we'll contact you as well.

Production

As I write this, all files (except the rules - and today the Game Trayz), have been submitted to our manufacturer. This means that the manufacturer will create a sample of the game for our approval and send it out to us. They tell us that we'll have it in our hands within the next two weeks.

Game Trayz

Done and done! These designs are outstanding! We cannot wait to have them in our hands. Have a look at the craftsmanship and details put into it. We are incredibly happy with the result. Thanks to Noah for doing such a great job with the details!

Endeavor: Age of Sail at the GoF

It has been kind of surreal walking around here and seeing peoples' faces light up when they see the stunning box. So many have stopped to tell us about their experiences with the original game. It warms my heart to hear stories about Jarratt and Carl's masterpiece. The best stories always end with, "I never forgave myself for selling my original copy. I'm so glad you are remaking it. I've backed it and can't wait to get it to the table."

More BackerKit Info, and We've Got Minis and Charter Companies

Ahoy Backers!

Things have been really humming along here at Endeavor: Age of Sail headquarters. Files have been submitted for language translations of the Exploits, the rule books will also be submitted for translation tomorrow, and BackerKit surveys are being completed. We continue to be on track with our dates for manufacturing and fulfillment.

Speaking of BackerKit

When we sent out our surveys, BackerKit said that you had until July to complete them. That was not the plan. Your surveys must be completed by March 30th, when they will be locked down. We have just under 2000 surveys to go. That's not too shabby considering there were 7553 of you in total. This deadline helps us to know how many Commodores we need to order. We are trying our hardest to keep the number of Commodore games out there as close to the number of backers we have as possible. We want you to know that we are committed to making your games as exclusive as possible.

Charging Credit Cards and Address Changes

We are aiming to charge your credit cards on BackerKit for add-ons on April 16th. This should be enough time to arrange for your cards to be ready. We recognize that September fulfillment is a really long time away. So, in terms of address changes, you'll have a chance to change them up until just before we begin the fulfillment process (July).

We're blown away by how stunning these look in real life. Obviously they are going to have colour when they are made for your games. We can only imagine how much better they are going to look. We can't wait to see the final product.

They are finally in. The Charter Companies went through a few revisions, but here they are. Totally worth the wait, right?

BackerKit Survey and a Little Surprise

Ahoy Backers!

We hope you are all well. We just came back from BreakOut Con in Toronto and had a fantastic weekend. We spoke with so many of you who had already backed Endeavor: Age of Sail and even more who were so impressed with the game they backed through BackerKit right then and there.

Surveys

Within the next few hours some of you will receive our "Smoke Test" surveys from BackerKit. BackerKit does this so that we can be sure that we have created the survey to suit your needs. Within the next 24 hours the rest of you (including dropped pledges and $1 pledges) will receive your surveys. Please be advised that the BackerKit survey is coming from Grand Gamers Guild and not from Burnt Island Games.

We have done our best to keep it simple. We have only a few questions for you to answer. 

Remember: we are only charging you a one time shipping fee. So, if you wish to add on to your pledge, you won't have to pay extra shipping fees. If you know someone that missed out on the campaign, add on to your pledge to save money NOW!

Retailers

I have been in touch with most of you . Thanks so much for working with us! If you haven't done so already, please contact us with your brick and mortar info so that we can discuss your options. If you do not do this you run the risk of your pledge being cancelled and you will not receive your games.

Address Changes

If you know you'll be moving within the next few months but don't know your new address yet, not to worry! You'll have a few months to edit your BackerKit. But please do add in an address so that we know that your pledge is complete.

What's Going on at the Moment and a Little Surprise

Josh is putting the finishing touches on the Endavor: Age of Sail rules and Exploits. All art and component designs are complete, including the incredible minis. Speaking of minis, we've already received photos of the samples. We don't waste time around here. They are incredible. But you'll have to wait to see them until they are in our hands.

What's Next

The minis will take another month or so to complete. That's why they began working on them so quickly. Once the rules are complete Josh will submit print files to the manufacturer. Then, the manufacturing process will begin. We should receive a sample within the next 4 weeks. We'll be sure to take some pictures and send them out to you in an update.

While Endeavor: Age of Sail is being manufactured we've got some other work to get done. Our sibling company KTBG (family games) and Grand Gamers Guild both have their own Kickstarter campaigns coming up in the Spring. Look out for them!!

Rahdo Fans

So many of you were bummed when you found out that Rahdo wouldn't be getting to our game before the end of the campaign. For those of you who don't know, it got stuck somewhere between the US and Malta. It shipped to him on December 22. It was lost for 3 months. Wouldn't you know it, he just received the package. Unfortunately for us he is moving within the next couple of weeks and doesn't have time to get down to a full run through. He suggested that he do a quick video taking a look at what has changed in the game since he did his first run through. But we asked him to hold off until he is back in the US and can take a look at the finished game (remember that he only got a prototype). So now, when he does his run through, he will be doing it with the game you are waiting so patiently for.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This has been an incredible experience for us so far. Everything is running on time and smoothly. Of course there are always hiccups along the way. We are feeling very good about everything at the moment and believe that if any hiccups do occur along the way, we'll meet them head-on because we've got your best interests at heart.

I really just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you for an incredible campaign. We had a great time interacting with you, talking business with you, and even joking around with "U"!! You have made this an amazing experience for each and every one of us on the Endeavor: Age of Sail campaign!

I also want to thank the wonderful humans involved in this project. First and foremost, our designers Jarratt and Carl. I want to thank you guys for trusting in me and giving me the opportunity to bring this amazing game back to life. You know that Endeavor is the reason I became a gamer, and even more, the reason I became a publisher. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

And of course, my business partner, Marc, I am so glad we decided to take this on together!! Thanks for being here with me and having my back. Looking forward to what the future holds.

And finally, and absolutely not least, Josh! An incredible artist, a talented designer, and most of all, the other person who helped to make this dream come true for me. Your trust in me helped drive me to do great things! 

What's Next

We keep on chugging along. We are finishing up the rules, getting things together for our manufacturer, and soon we'll be ready to submit art files. In the meantime, you've got a job to do. 

We'll be sending out a survey from BackerKit in the coming weeks. It will help us understand your pledge better. We'll guide you through it. So if it is your first time, don't worry at all. We'll be here to hold your hand. 

But beware, the BackerKit survey will be coming from the Grand Gamers Guild and NOT Burnt Island Games. It's very important that you keep that in mind. I wouldn't want you to skip over it.

Ahoy Backers!

With $655 000+ pledged, 872% funded, 7 185+ backers, and less than 4 hours to go, we are really rolling! I actually can't even keep up with the numbers. Every time I write this it changes. So, these numbers are already out of date.

Welcome to all of our new backers. You arrived just in time! 

To everyone who has been here since the beginning, I'll leave the sappiness until after the campaign.

Game Trayz

There are no words for how incredibly designed these trays are. They are not final and are still in the concept stage. Much of it will be moved around. If you happen to notice that something is missing, we already know about it. But we wanted to have an image for you before the end of the campaign so that you could see this amazingness!
